Ultimate seems like a VERY expensive daw even for a full time engineer. I cant go back to Pro Tools 11 and the current Pro Tools has a track limit. Try to open a project from V4 and see what happens. I could open my first projects from 2003-2004 that I created on a PC without any problems at all.

Version and just stop there but for every update it just gets worse and since I cant go back to version 3 (because I need to be able to open projects from 4 and 5) this is the end of the road.įun fact. I have waited at least two years now for a more ”stable” I’ve invested in many daws (and honestly enjoy switching from time to time) but its a shame since imo this is one of the better daws, but it just doesnt work. I have soooooooooooo many projects in Studio One and its just complete HELL to try to open something even from last year. Arturia seem to crash S1 more often than not. Why cant I use them in Studio One?īasically cant use ANY waves plugins (no biggie, I can go UAD). If you blame all 3rd party plugins why dont you just lock out 3rd party plugins so it works? I like my plugins. Some good plugins i bought there but the standard reply from Presonus is ”its not us its them”. A lot of the not so very often updated smaller plugin creators seem to crash my system so i just stopped using them. The ”bigger” companies since the smaller companies seem to have left the S1 building.
I dont use any piracy software and nothing strange. On my previous Mac Mini 2018 speced out and now on my Imac Pro. I’ve tried a few clean installs (obviously) on Mojave and Catalina. the ”all audio stops with a click” audio engine death. You never know when but you know it will crash. I cant believe how terrible this software is. Some 150 records later with tons of money invested (not really, but updates and some presonus hardware) its clearly time to say goodbye.įor every update it just keeps getting worse. Full time engineer/producer that was looking for a better option than Pro Tools (stopped at 11). Ive been using S1 now for about 5-6 years as my main DAW.
